The Envoy Group Facilitates an Insurance Gathering in St. George, UT
The Envoy Group recently facilitated a gathering of some of its professional network partners in St. George, UT to discuss insurance coverage strategies for therapeutic boarding schools, residential treatment centers, and wilderness therapy programs.
The Envoy Group regularly encourages its network of therapeutic boarding schools, residential treatment centers, and wilderness therapy programs to pursue funding by way of health insurance, in order to make programs more affordable for families. Thankfully, many programs have taken the charge and are now working together to discuss ethical boundaries and strategies for making sure that insurance companies cover their services for the families that need it. Many health insurance companies cover mental and behavioral health interventions, but often fail to live up to their obligations. Thankfully, many programs have found appropriate strategies and methods which can demonstrate both the family’s medical necessity as well as the program’s ability to meet their need.
During the gathering, several programs, as well as several experts in the field, came to present their experience with insurance companies, legal and ethical boundaries surrounding insurance claims, paperwork and campus requirements for Medicaid and Tricare, as well as options for remote medical assistance. Also presented was a new innovative, cost-effective and comprehensive drug testing method — the first of its kind in the country, which can potentially provide insurance companies with the information they need to both initiate and continue coverage for residents.
